The project aimed to achieve sustainable human livelihoods by introducing innovative and sustainable approaches for better long run life of smallholder farmers through identification and sharing of best practices.

The project had three main components:

1. Capacity building of smallholder farmers, private sectors, research/academic institutions, and civil society organisations to increase productivity, promote sustainable development, built local capacity for technology, agricultural research and sustainable development

2. Capacity building of policy makers/governmental institutions to provide necessary public goods and services, by combating institutional barriers and low public good provisions

3. Networking/communication and interactions among all stakeholders of the process, by establishing a dialog platform and activate constructive interactions and exchange including international participation and cooperation

Project results:

  • Increased volume of crop yield in the areas covered by the project intervention
  • Decreased rates of livestock diseases
  • Increased awareness of target groups on land and environmental legislation
  • Strengthened capacity of local farmers on farming economy
  • Developed capacity of farmers to sell their own products for good price
  • Positive tendencies in building and promoting mutually beneficial relationships and trustful cooperation between farmers and local authorities
